Saddle Ridge has once again been chosen to team up with the Atlanta Falcons to pilot a program geared toward the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of young girls. We were among 38 other schools in the state of Georgia to be chosen. This program will begin in the Fall of 2021 and will continue for 3 years.
GEM, Girls Empowering Movement, is a statewide initiative to improve physical activity among middle school girls. The program will empower girls to become change-agents in their schools and communities by taking action as leaders to implement creative, innovative physical activity programs that are designed by girls, for girls.

Only 51% of girls have healthy aerobic capacity in 5th grade and by 12th grade, the number drops to 31%
